Solo Latin American
About Solo Dance BRIEF HISTORYSOLO LATIN This form of dancing started as exercises to train already well-established dancers to improve their dancing. All dancers were able to take part in these exercises as the were danced solo. This prompted the solo form to become a style on its own. The exercise also showed that more dancers could fit into the size of the studio being used. There are 6 dances danced in the Solo Latin. First used in classes in 1998 and the first competition was held on the 29th March, 2002 in Reunion and then South Africa in that same year. These competitions were Cha cha cha only, and then Jive was introduced by the end of the year. At the beginning of 2003 the remaining dances were introduced.
